Saturdays 13th Decmber's training incorporates the Bushy park 5k run. it's important that we do this type of bike/run prep training throughout the winter. Meet at the same place, same time. Teddington Cricket Club 8.15 prompt. Please have a lock, a watch, run kit and most importantly your BARCODE! We'll ride for 20 minutes as a warm up, lock the bikes up, a 5/7 minute jog/run to get the bike out of your legs and off we go! Anyone wanting to try and get a P.B. speak to me and we'll try and get you a pacemaker to ensure you have a chance of achieving your target.

2k time Trial results and a new record....... again!
A great atmosphere with all those Comets racing around last night at the track. We saw the first 2k time trial. 23 turned up, 21 athletes did the T.T.
The results are done up. I've also put your triathlon category down so you get used to knowing how you raced against others in your age group.
For all the junior newcomers, on the document below is a explanation of how you calculate which age category you race in each year. I can't publish the results on the website but if you want a copy you can either email me or wait in anticipation until next week!
All Comets, firstly, if you pick this up please, please, bring a watch this evening for Track / Turbo.
Secondly I'll reiterate, the new Saturday session starts this weekend, 8.15 Teddington Cricket Club. You must have a roadworthy road bike, a helmet is compulsory & gloves. Parents can either use the club house or take part as a back marker, again a road bike is required.
The summer courses are also in place so if you want extra training at a great location sign up, places are limited.
There is also the "Leisure live" day at Churchfields in Weybridge on the 28th June which the Comets are having a place with Gazebo, banner and as much promotional material as possible to make a good impression!
I can't do it without you. It's from 10.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m so if you want to come and help promote your club please do. The experienced juniors will also be asked to help promote the club. I'm hoping to have some Comet t shirts before. They're not going to be the genuine ones just for promotion purposes.
We're also putting in place a short session for the under aged youngsters who want to belong to Comets.
Starting this evening 5.45 until 6.15 a short half hour taster, easy run only session and every week from now on throughout the Summer.
Tonight it's going to be an interesting Turbo/run. After the warm up on the bike we're putting in "surprise" interspersed 400 run bursts. You won't know when it's coming, you won't know when it's your turn! A great little sharpener. This is taking into consideration all those racing at Hillingdon at the weekend. For the track runners it's 400's & 800's All the coaches do put the emphasis on technique so if they pick you up on something it's for your benefit, see you later.

Race season & transition training.
The race season is fast approaching and one of the neglected areas we don't practice is transition (the fourth discipline). I intend spending some time putting this in on Sunday at Brooklands. Some Juniors and seniors will be racing Kingfisher Aquathon so we also need some swim to run. There's also the Hillingdon Duathlon coming up in the next couple of weeks so a few reps of Run-Bike-Run transitions at Brooklands tomorrow is on the cards.
